LicensePlate.ae lists more than 2,500 used cars for sale in Abu Dhabi. Half of them ask less than about AED 80,000, and the typical car is a 2021. Nissan is the most listed make in Abu Dhabi, ahead of Toyota and Mercedes-Benz.
| Price | Cars in Abu Dhabi |
|---|---|
| Under AED 20,000 | 263 |
| AED 20,000 – 50,000 | 614 |
| AED 50,000 – 100,000 | 593 |
| AED 100,000 – 200,000 | 551 |
| Over AED 200,000 | 505 |
Around a third of the cars listed here ask under AED 50,000. That is a clearly bigger share than in Dubai: Abu Dhabi is the better hunting ground if your budget is under AED 50,000.
Under AED 10,000–20,000 you are buying age and kilometres: a ten-year-old Corolla, Sunny or Altima with a long history. That can still be a good car — if the gearbox shifts cleanly, the air conditioning is cold, and the seller can show what has been serviced.

Most of Abu Dhabi's used-car showrooms sit together in Mussafah, which makes it easy to compare several cars in one visit — and easy to be talked into the one in front of you. Take the advert prices with you. Buying from a private owner skips the showroom margin, but nobody else checks the car or the papers for you.

The Nissan Patrol leads by a distance. Abu Dhabi's market is built around big SUVs and pickups — cars for long motorway runs and the desert as much as for the city. The model pages show every one of those cars across the UAE, with prices by model year where there is a guide.
712 of the adverts in Abu Dhabi say finance can be arranged. Before you compare monthly figures: a UAE bank lends no more than 80% of the car's value and over no more than five years, so every "no down payment" deal pays the first 20% from somewhere. Compare what you pay in total, including insurance and any service package that is bundled in.
You do not have to buy a car registered in Abu Dhabi. A car from Dubai or Sharjah can be bought and moved to your name — the registration changes emirate during the transfer. Ask the traffic authority which inspection the car needs for that, and check the toll account: Abu Dhabi's Darb toll account is registered to the car's owner, so the new owner sets up their own.
Before: an independent inspection, the chassis number on the registration card checked against the car, no bank loan outstanding (or the bank's release letter in hand) and no unpaid fines.
The transfer: done through Abu Dhabi Police traffic and licensing — online via the TAMM government platform or at a service centre — with the buyer insured in their own name.
Payment: when the car is in your name. Never a deposit up front, and never money for a car you have not seen.
Selling has its own page, with a free valuation to start from.
The budget table above lists the cars under AED 20,000 and under AED 50,000 — click a row to see them. Most showrooms are in Mussafah; private sellers are spread across the city.

Yes — the registration changes emirate during the ownership transfer. Check which inspection is needed and set up your own toll account.
Yes. Banks lend at most 80% of the car's value over at most five years, so compare the total cost of any "no down payment" offer.
Every figure on this page is read from the adverts listed at the moment you load it and refreshes through the day. They are asking prices, not recorded sale prices.
