Sell my car: frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to sell my car on LicensePlate.ae?
Nothing. Listing your car is free, there is no commission when it sells, and you keep the whole price.
Do I need an account to list my car?
Not to start. You can fill in everything — car, photos, price and description — and only log in or sign up when you press Publish. Your details are saved in the meantime.
How long does it take to list a car?
A few minutes. Choose the car from the catalogue and we fill in the technical data; you add photos, the price, the mileage and a short description.
Can I sell my car in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah or another emirate?
Yes. LicensePlate.ae covers all seven Emirates — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Umm Al Quwain. Your listing shows where the car is.
Which documents do I need to sell a car in the UAE?
Usually the registration card (mulkiya), both parties' Emirates IDs and paid traffic fines. If the car is financed, the bank's clearance letter is needed before the ownership can be transferred.
How do I sell my car safely?
Meet buyers in a public place, let them inspect and test-drive the car, and transfer the ownership together at the licensing centre. Never pay or accept a deposit or a cheque before the handover.
